Julia was born in Alabama where she fell in love with ballet and theatre at a young age. After receiving a B.A in Dance and Theatre from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, she studied at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco before moving to Los Angeles.

Julia continues to enjoy working in theatre. Her Los Angeles theatre credits include The Crucible, American Dream, C-Cup, Pirates of Penzance, Steel Magnolias (one of her favorites), The Cover of Life, Necessary Targets, Push, Incorruptible, War Bride (for which she won a Stage Scene L.A. “Scenie” award for her performance as Catherine Rhodes), John Gabriel Borkman, An American Adaptation and Inhale Harmonica. Another favorite was playing Zelda Fitzgerald in a short solo piece from What Will Happen to Daisy?.

Television credits include Artista Obscura, Body of Proof, Harry’s Law, Mad Men, Melrose Place, Criminal Minds, Life, Monk, Scurbs, Ally McBeal, Dragnet, Dr. Vegas, Wings, General Hospital, Beyond Belief , Short Circuitz, as well as numerous national and regional commercials. Film credits include Music, Butterfly Caught, The Prestige, Something’s Gotta Give, Wristcutters: A Love Story, Waning Moon, The Book, Dawn, a number of other independent films and the web series Undertow and Burt Paxton.

Julia love animals and is passionate about animal rights and the environment. She has three rescued cats who rule her house.
