Live Readings

Live Readings

The Collaborative presents live readings of plays, radio dramas, and screenplays to both live-streaming and in-person audiences. Directed and performed by our members, these special readings help raise funds for our diversity initiatives and creative endeavours.

Storytelling

Storytelling

Everyone has stories to tell — some about major life events, some about quiet moments with lasting impact, but all with the capacity to connect us to one another through our shared humanity. In learning how to craft these true stories into performance, we expand our capacity as actors to communicate different perspectives through our own human experience. These monthly classes culminate in an annual storytelling show performed for the public.

Fresh Script Sundays

Fresh Script Sundays

Fresh Script Sundays are quarterly live script readings, performed and often written by our members. These events also foster lively, moderated conversations with the screenwriters, performers and audience, creating opportunities for the writers to strengthen their work through honest dialogue and feedback.

This is a chance for writers to hear their words performed by professionals and experience an audience’s reaction, often for the very first time. Many of our selected scripts have gone on to become award-winning productions.

The Collaborative Film Festival

The Collaborative Film Festival

The annual Collaborative Film Festival is the crown jewel of our production branch. Our festival celebrates the work of actors who have stepped into the additional role of producer, writer, or director. We accept submissions from all filmmakers to develop a slate of films and stories told by actors from all over the world.
