Doug Cox grew up in southern Illinois and left as soon as he could to attend the USC School of Cinematic Arts. For over 12 years he wrote and performed at The Groundlings, LA’s premier improv troupe. He has made dozens of appearances on television, in films and on stage. Lately, you’ll see him play a lot of doctors and ministers.
Doug co-wrote four episodes of the groundbreaking “Pee-wee’s Playhouse,” two of which received Emmy Award nominations. He has also written and directed dozens of comedy corporate films. Doug wrote, co-produced and directed the feature film “Shrink Rap.” Also a storyteller, he has told true stories of his crazy adventures at the Groundlings, Taboo Tales, and other venues around town.
